3D Painterly Texture Tutorial (Substance Painter) — Brushes Included (Ellie The last of Us)
This is a hands-on class where I show you exactly how I painted Ellie’s face, hair and clothing in Substance Painter, the decisions I make, and how I read values, generators, and shape to build the final appeal. You will learn what I consider when I start a project like this and why I make certain painting choices over others.
What you get
- About 90 minutes of class (explained class + timelapse) showing the full painting workflow in Substance Painter.
- My custom Substance Painter brushes are ready to install and use.
- A PDF with my key notes, a workflow checklist, and the upgrade info.
I focus on choices, not rituals. You will see where I spend time, what I ignore, and how a couple of deliberate brushstrokes change the entire reading of a face. I show how to preserve a painterly look under render, and use texture and painted marks to communicate mood and history. The blood and scars are painted as storytelling elements, not as afterthoughts. We finish with a full timelapse so you can watch the same decisions
If you already own NPR Sketch, Ellie is included. Do not buy this separately. If you do not own the course yet, there is an exclusive discount inside the PDF if you want to upgrade to the full NPR Sketch course, where I cover modeling, shading in Maya and Arnold, lighting, and more than four hours of material.
Practical Substance Painter class with timelapse, ready to use brushes and PDF notes.
